Close on the heels of Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw announcing that he will flag off the Yesvantpur-Mangaluru-Madgaon Vande Bharat Express in Mangaluru before November third week, on October 30, 2026, the Ministry issued a circular announcing the timetable and commercial halts for the service.
The new service may be introduced from an early convenient date or No Booking Date (for Train No. 20646/645 Mangaluru Central (MAQ)-Madgaon (MAO) -MAQ Vande Bharat Express), the Ministry informed. On September 29, Mr. Vaishnaw had announced that the Mangaluru-Madgaon Vande Bharat Express would be re-worked to operate from Madgaon to Yesvantpur in Bengaluru via Mangaluru Junction railway station to provide the premium train service to coastal Karnataka.
The October 30 circular of the Ministry comes two days after Udupi-Chikkamagaluru MP Kota Srinivas Poojary met Mr. Vaishnaw in New Delhi seeking early introduction of the coastal Vande Bharat service.
