A 36-year-old Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) jawan was killed on the spot and five others were injured after a lorry lost control and rammed into two vehicles on National Highway 163. The accident was reported near the Pasra Forest Check Post in Govindaraopet mandal of Mulugu district, Telangana, around 10 a.m. on Thursday (October 8, 2026).
The deceased was identified as Muguram Ramakanth, a jawan attached to the CRPF’s 39th Battalion.
According to Mulugu Superintendent of Police Sudhir Ramnath Kekan, the lorry first collided with a goods carrier in which CRPF personnel were travelling on the Pasra–Tadvai stretch. Ramakanth died on the spot, while three other jawans, identified as Girish Kumar, Prem Prakash and Ram Jan Prasad, sustained injuries.
Following the initial collision, the lorry rammed into a car travelling behind the CRPF vehicle, injuring two government employees. The officer said both were out of danger. The accident occurred near the Forest Department checkpost, with the same lorry hitting both vehicles in succession.
