Cuddalore Mayor and DMK councillors protest against Corporation Commissioner over disrespectful remarks and unsatisfactory project responses.

Councillors of the DMK led by Cuddalore Mayor Sundari Raja staged a protest at the Cuddalore Corporation on Wednesday, alleging that Corporation Commissioner S. Kishan Kumar had made disrespectful remarks against the Mayor and councillors.
The councillors led by Ms. Sundari Raja had gone to meet the Commissioner seeking the inauguration of several completed projects. During the meeting, the councillors also complained that stormwater drains in the Corporation’s 45 wards had not been properly desilted.
The councillors alleged that the Commissioner neither gave a proper response to their demands nor accorded due respect to the Mayor, and that he used disrespectful words against them.
Subsequently, the Mayor along with DMK councillors staged a protest at the Corporation office, demanding action against Mr. Kishan Kumar. On information, police personnel led by Deputy Superintendent of Police Iniyan held talks with the protesters.
Tension prevailed after the protesters attempted to lay seige to the Commissioner’s office, who were then removed by the police.
Later, following talks, the Mayor accompanied by councillors submitted a petition to Cuddalore Superintendent of Police Vivekananda Shukla alleging that the Commissioner had made disrespectful remarks against them.
