Stating that the State government is committed to conduct elections to rural local bodies, Rural Development and Panchayat Raj Minister Eshwar Khandre on Monday said that draft reservation list for election to gram panchayats, taluk panchayats, and zilla panchayats was ready
“We are ready to publish the draft notification. Since the model code of conduct is in force owing to the Legislative Council election, if the Election Commission provides permission, we will notify it. We have sought permission from the Commission,” Mr. Khandre told reporters in Bidar.
He said the draft will be finalised after hearing objections and suggestions following which an affidavit will be filed in the high Court. “Proposal (for election) will be submitted to the State Election Commission,” he said.
