Avalahalli police in Bengaluru have registered a case against the driver of a garbage collection vehicle for allegedly running over and killing a 10-month-old female stray dog at Konadasapura village on October 16.

According to the complaint filed by Veena N., a resident of Seetharayya Road in Konadasapura village, the incident occurred around 7.44 a.m. when the puppy was sitting by the roadside.

The complainant alleges that the garbage vehicle’s driver, Chakku Miah, failed to honk or make any apparent attempt to alert the dog before running over the animal.

Even after the vehicle hit the puppy, the driver allegedly did not stop and ran over the animal again, killing it on the spot.

People who witnessed the incident reportedly told the driver to stop. They told him not to move the vehicle after noticing the puppy trapped beneath the truck.
