Government surveyors booked for alleged irregularities in processing survey documents
Bengaluru police have booked three surveyors for alleged irregularities in processing 103 land survey applications, prompting further investigation.
The report alleged that the transactions involved irregularities in the processing of applications and that the movement of files indicated the possible involvement of multiple persons.

The Bengaluru police have booked three government surveyors after an internal department inquiry flagged alleged irregularities in the processing of 103 land survey-related applications in the K.R. Puram ADLR office.
The accused have been identified as Shivashankar, Arun Kumar, and Manjunath, who were surveyors at the K.R. Puram ADLR office.
According to the FIR, the department received allegations against Manjunath, following which officials examined his login and transaction history on the Bhoomi online. The inquiry was initiated after the Deputy Director of Land Records directed officials to obtain details of complaints received against surveyors, as well as cases uploaded without sketches by government and licensed surveyors in the Bengaluru urban district over the previous eight months.
The report alleged that the transactions involved irregularities in the processing of applications and that the movement of files indicated the possible involvement of multiple persons. It also stated that some applications had allegedly been processed bypassing the actual mandates.
The Bhoomi Monitoring Cell examined the 103 cases and flagged several issues. These included an alleged loss to the government towards fees that should have been collected. The department estimated the loss in the 103 cases at ₹77,075. Officials also raised concerns that similar irregularities could have occurred in other districts and called for a detailed examination of the transactions.
The complainant has sought to ascertain the role of officials and operators involved in processing the applications. An FIR has been filed at Halasur Gate Police Station.
