JD(S) State general secretary Gottigere Manju was arrested by the Hulimavu police on August 17 in connection with an alleged assault on a traffic police personnel on duty near Gottigere, in Bengaluru.
According to the police, traffic personnel were checking vehicles when they stopped Manju’s vehicle. Manju allegedly questioned the officer, asking how he could stop his vehicle, and this led to an argument.

The altercation was reportedly brought under control after bystanders intervened and separated the two.
Following the incident, the traffic police personnel lodged a complaint at Hulimavu police station. Based on the complaint, police registered a case and subsequently traced Manju to a private hotel, where he was arrested on the charge of assaulting a public servant on duty.
