Kolkata Metro services on the North-South corridor were disrupted for around an hour on Monday (October 19, 2026) evening due to a technical glitch, officials said.
The disruption came at a time when large numbers of people use the Metro to visit Durga Puja pandals across the city on Maha Ashtami.
The technical problem occurred at Mahanayak Uttam Kumar station in Tollygunge around 5.31 p.m., following which truncated services were run in both directions between Maidan and Dakshineswar stations, they said.
The issue was resolved, and services were restored along the entire stretch of the Blue Line at 6.23 p.m., they added.
