The trailer of Vishal’s upcoming actioner, Magudam was unveiled by the makers on Friday (August 7, 2026). The film marks Vishal’s directorial debut as he also plays the leading role alongside Anjali, Dushara Vijayan.
The trailer introduces Vishal in different avatars, creating a mystery around his character. There are glimpses of his simpler side as the story moves into violence involving deadly gangsters, where Vishal dons a flamboyant appearance. The timeline then shifts, showing an older look of Vishal, which is filled with its own charm as he has a long grey beard and wears a stunning white suit. The film seems to show different stages of the character’s life, promising intense action sequences that are blended with a strong emotional core involving the characters of Anjali and Dushara.
Magudam also stars John Vijay, Jeya prakash, Ajay, Vamsi Krishna, Abu Salim, Arjai, Vj Jhansi, Padam Kumar, Sabhumon in pivotal roles. It is shot by Richard.M. Nathan & Abinandhan Ramanujam and edited by N.B Srikanth.
The film features music by G.V Prakash Kumar and lyrics by Ekadesi, Vivek, Uma devi, Karunakaran, V7H. It is based on a story by Ravi Arasu with Vishal credited as the screenplay writer.
The dialogues are penned by Pon Parthiban, Vishal, Anadh Kumaresan (Tamil) & Rajesh A Moorthy (Telugu). Produced by B.Suresh, R.B.Jeevan Choudary, Jithan Ramesh, Jiiva, Magudam will be released in theatres on August 14.
