BJP State president Nainar Nagenthran on Sunday criticised the TVK-led government over its alleged inefficiency in monsoon preparedness.

Rainwater stagnation in many parts of Chennai was due to the alleged lack of precautionary measures, even though there was a weather advisory in this regard, he said. The impact of heavy rain noticed in the international air terminus, GST Road, Ganesapuram subway, and many arterial roads and areas in Tambaram was only indicative of the alleged inaction of the government machinery, Mr. Nagenthran said.

Chief Minister C. Joseph Vijay must realise that administration was about standing with the people to address their grievances, the BJP leader added.
