New U.K. Deputy High Commissioner appointed

Harshbir Sangha will also serve as the U.K.’s Deputy Trade Commissioner for Investment in South Asia

The U.K. has appointed Harshbir Sangha as its new Deputy High Commissioner to Karnataka. He will also serve as the U.K.’s Deputy Trade Commissioner for Investment in South Asia.

Prior to taking up his posting in India, Mr. Sangha was the Deputy Director for Satellite Communications & PNT (Positioning, Navigation & Timing) at the U.K. Space Agency, said a release.

“In his role, Mr. Sangha will be responsible for all aspects of the U.K.’s engagement in Karnataka. The role includes promoting business and trade links in the state, strengthening scientific, technological and education cooperation and working with partners to tackle climate change,” said a release.

He will also serve as the U.K.’s Deputy Trade Commissioner for Investment in South Asia with a mandate to further strengthen and promote the UK as a preferred destination for foreign direct investment from India and the wider South Asia region.
