J&K Chief Minister Omar Abdullah on Thursday (August 13, 2026) termed the attack on Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) leader Sukhbir Singh Badal as “heinous and unacceptable in a democracy”.
Condemning the attack on Mr. Badal and describing it “heinous attack”, Mr. Abdullah said, “Such attacks have no place and no justification in a democracy.
Expressing concerns over security, Mr. Abdullah said, “What is shocking is that after Sukhbir survived an attempted assassination attempt in Amritsar earlier, nothing seems to have been done to protect him better.”
