Police arrest four in Kurnool house burglary, recover stolen valuables

Police seize gold jewellery, including two gold chains and children’s rings, as well as silver and the scooter used in the theft from the accused

Four persons were arrested for reportedly stealing valuables after breaking into a house in Kurnool on Sunday.

According to police, unknown persons broke into the residence of Jayanthi Maheshwar Reddy in Aditya Nagar under IV Town police limits on July 6 and allegedly stole nearly 25 grams of gold and 320 grams of silver jewellery. Police checked the CCTV footage in the vicinity of the house and found a suspicious two-wheeler and initiated a probe into the owners of the vehicle.

The probe led to identification and arrest of the four accused — Erukali Ganga Prasad and Erukali Siva Prasad, both residents of Tadipatri town, Kamle Karthik of Kurnool, and Erukali Ramanjaneyulu of Gooty in Anantapur. Under the supervision of Circle Inspector (CI) Vikrama Simha, a police team arrested the individuals while they were hiding in the fields adjacent to the summer storage tank.

The police seized gold jewellery, including two gold chains and children’s rings, as well as silver and the scooter used in the theft. The accused were remanded to judicial custody.
