In a fresh development in the brutal murder of seven members of a family, Rajajinagar Police have recovered two more bodies, suspected to be those of Shivakumar and his wife Divya — the accused Indushekhar’s brother-in-law and sister-in-law — near the foothills of Chamundi Hills in Mysuru, on Sunday (November 8, 2026).

Police conducted a spot mahazar of the spot with the accused while recovering the bodies.

With this development, five bodies have been traced so far in the case, while the search for the remaining two continues.

DCP, North Division said that two more dead bodies found near Chamundi hill forest area are said to be of Shivakumar and Divya. Another special police team has been deployed to Shiradi Ghat, where it is conducting searches for the two more missing bodies, he said.

On Saturday (November 7, 2026), police recovered the bodies of the accused’s wife, Sunita, and mother-in-law, Rupavathi, from a forest area in Salem, Tamil Nadu. The body of a young boy was earlier recovered near the foothills of Nandi Hills and has already been cremated.

According to the investigation, Indushekhar allegedly murdered seven of his relatives, including his wife, over a period of 15 days. He is suspected to have packed the bodies in gunny bags, transported them in his car and dumped them at different locations, including the foothills of Nandi Hills, a forest area in Salem, the foothills of Chamundi Hills and Shiradi Ghat.

The accused, who is currently in police custody, is being subjected to intensive interrogation as investigators try to establish the sequence of murders, the motive and the locations where the remaining bodies were disposed of.
