Rowdy-sheeter arrested under Goonda Act

Bengaluru police arrest rowdy-sheeter Vijay S. under the Goonda Act for multiple serious offenses, ensuring public safety.

The Central Crime Branch (CCB) sleuths on Thursday arrested a 23-year-old rowdy-sheeter under the Goonda Act for allegedly being involved in activities disturbing law and order and creating fear among the public.

The accused, Vijay S., a rowdy-sheeter in the limits of the Kalasipalya and Siddapura Police Stations, was arrested by the CCB Organised Crime Wing (West Division) on August 13.

According to the police, Vijay had been continuously involved in unlawful activities within the jurisdiction of various police stations in the city. He was allegedly involved in serious offences, including attempted murder and assault.

The CCB Organised Crime Wing (West Division) had submitted a proposal to the Bengaluru City Police Commissioner Seemant Kumar Singh, seeking his detention under the Goonda Act to prevent him from continuing his alleged unlawful activities. Subsequently, Mr. Singh issued a detention order under the Goonda Act on August 13.

The police said a total of nine cases have been registered against Vijay, including two cases of attempted murder, six cases of assault and one case related to consumption of narcotic substances.
