A 24-year-old rowdy-sheeter, who was allegedly involved in 24 criminal cases across Bengaluru and had been absconding from court proceedings for the past year, has been arrested by the Ashok Nagar police.

The accused, identified as Aleem Khan, had been evading trial by failing to appear before various courts despite being named in multiple criminal cases registered at the Ashok Nagar Police Station and other police stations across the city.

According to the police, Khan’s continued absence from courts resulted in issuing non-bailable warrants and proclamation orders against him.

Following the court directions, a manhunt was launched for the accused. Acting on credible information that Khan was staying in Chamarajapet, a team from the Ashok Nagar police traced and arrested him on July 22.

The police produced him before a Bengaluru court and remanded him in judicial custody.
