Suriya’s next is ‘Scene’, directed by Jithu Madhavan; title teaser out

Also starring Nazriya Nazim, Naslen, John Vijay and Anandraj in pivotal roles, the film is set to release in theatres on November 6

Scene is the title of Tamil superstar Suriya’s upcoming film with Malayalam filmmaker Jithu Madhavan, the makers announced on Wednesday (September 9) with a title teaser. Also produced by Suriya, the film is set to release in theatres on November 6 for Deepavali.

The teaser introduces Suriya as DSP Inbaraj, a fear-inducing cop whose very entrance hints at the Suriya whom Jithu wishes to bring to the screen. “In the name of talent, you guys keep burying his nasty side,” someone tells us as Inbaraj arrives in his jeep. We are later shown glimpses of how Inbaraj manages his jail. “For you, I might be the only cop who managed to arrest you. But for me, you are just one of the thousands of scum I have locked up in prison,” he says. In a surprise reveal, we also see Suriya in a young, dashing look as he exits in the rain.

The cast of Scene also includes Nazriya Nazim, Naslen, John Vijay and Anandraj. Popular YouTuber Rajpriyan is also playing a role in the film. Details regarding the plot remain unknown.

Jithu’s frequent collaborator, Sushin Shyam, is composing the music for Scene. Vineeth Augustian is the cinematographer, Ashwini Kale the production designer, and Ajmal Sabu the editor. Chethan D’Souza serves as the stunt choreographer. Suriya and Jyotika produce Scene under their Zhagaram Studios and 2D Entertainment banners.

Meanwhile, Suriya was last seen in Venky Atluri’s Vishwanath & Sons, co-starring Mamitha Baiju. After Scene, the actor will be seen in Jai Bhim director TJ Gnanavel’s next, produced by Hombale Films.

Jithu Madhavan turned heads with his blockbuster debut feature, Romancham. The director followed it up with the widely acclaimed blockbuster Aavesham, starring Fahadh Faasil, which made over ₹150 crores at the box office. Jithu also penned the screenplay for Manjummel Boys director Chidambaram’s last release, Balan: The Boy.
