Tanveer Sait exits Dasara breakfast meet over delay

Narasimharaja MLA and former Minister Tanveer Sait walked out of a breakfast programme organised for the mahouts and kavadis accompanying the Dasara elephants on the palace premises here on Monday, reportedly expressing displeasure over the delay in the arrival of Minister In-charge of Mysuru district Yathindra Siddaramaiah.

The breakfast programme was scheduled around 9 a.m., and Mr. Sait had arrived at the venue on time. However, Dr. Yathindra Siddaramaiah reportedly reached the Palace only around 10 a.m., delaying the start of the programme. Some other MLAs also arrived late.

Upset over the delay, Mr Sait spoke to the Deputy Commissioner over the phone before leaving the venue in his car. He reportedly questioned why those attending the programme should be made to wait.

“There is a limit for everything. I am leaving the programme,” he said before ending the call and leaving the venue.

Mr. Sait left the venue before the arrival of Dr. Yathindra and other guests.

Later, speaking to reporters, Dr. Yathindra said the delay was not deliberate. He said he had some arrangements to attend to at the family’s newly inaugurated house in Mysuru before leaving for the programme, which resulted in the delay. He also said that he had spoken to Mr. Sait about the matter.
