Temple priest arrested for alleged derogatory remarks against Sree Narayana Guru

A middle-aged man has been arrested by the Ernakulam Rural Cyber Police for allegedly making derogatory remarks online against reformer Sri Narayana Guru and a community in Keralam, the police said on Saturday (September 26, 2026).

K.V. Subhash, a native of Muvattupuzha and the Tantri of a Nagaraja temple there, was arrested on Saturday (September 26), a day after he was taken into custody. He was booked after receiving a complaint about a YouTube video in which the accused allegedly made derogatory remarks earlier this month.

According to the FIR, the accused allegedly sought to insult and defame the dignity and reputation of the Guru, the Ezhava community and people associated with the Sree Narayana Dharma Paripalana Yogam through a video published on YouTube. He has been booked for allegedly disrupting public peace and provoking hatred between communities.
