From the short tunnel–flyover between the notorious Hebbal junction and Mehkri Circle, Bengaluru Business Corridor to sites being allotted in Dr. K. Shivaram Karanth Layout, Bangalore Development Authority (BDA) is always in news.

In an hour-long chat with The Hindu’s reporters as part of #THTalksBengaluru on October 8, 2026, BDA Chairman N.A. Haris answered readers’ questions on calling tenders for the Peripheral Ring Road-1, a long-pending project that could potentially decongest the city, the felling of trees for the short tunnel project, promoting vertical growth in Bengaluru and reinstating BDA as the sole planning authority for the rapidly growing city.
