Vatika Limited case: ED searches three premises linked to former Haryana Minister Gopal Kanda

The Enforcement Directorate has conducted searches at three premises linked to former Haryana Minister Gopal Kanda in connection with an alleged real-estate fraud case involving Vatika Limited, according to the agency sources.
On Thursday (September 17, 2026), the searches were carried out at Mr. Kanda’s residence, farmhouse, and office premises in Gurugram.
The action follows the ED’ investigation into the suspected diversion of funds collected from investors in four commercial real-estate projects developed by Vatika Limited.
According to the agency, investors were allegedly induced to put money into the projects on promises of timely possession, assured returns, lease rentals, and execution of sale deeds. However, despite collecting about ₹248.46 crore from 661 investors, possession of the properties was allegedly not handed over and the promised sale deeds were not executed.
The ED is probing the financial trail of the funds collected from home buyers and investors and the suspected diversion of the funds. Investigators have traced portions of the diverted money to various companies allegedly linked to Mr. Kanda, sources said.
