A woman travelling on the Namma Metro reportedly caught a male passenger allegedly recording her without her consent at the Whitefield-Kadugodi Metro Station on Tuesday, leading to a confrontation during which the accused allegedly snatched his phone back and fled.
According to the woman, she confronted the man after noticing him recording her and took his phone. She sought the assistance of Metro security personnel and demanded that the recording be shown to her before the phone was handed over to security staff.
However, the accused, while allegedly pretending to show her the recording, snatched the phone back and ran away.
The woman later lodged a complaint with Metro station authorities, seeking action against the man. She also uploaded a video on social media, urging authorities to take legal action against the accused.
“This guy kept recording me and behaving inappropriately,” she said in the video. The man is also seen apologising to her as she proceeds towards the Metro office to file a complaint.
The video also shows male and female security guards present during the confrontation, with the woman repeatedly seeking their intervention.
Metro officials said a complaint had been received and that the staff on duty were looking into the incident to identify the man.
Bengaluru City police took to social media and said they had taken cognisance of the social media post and have registered an FIR.
