Bogged down by Bengaluru’s notorious traffic, abductor of Rajasthan woman told driver to run over anyone who comes in the way
The abductors were caught by local people and handed over to the Bengaluru police when their vehicle slowed down due to traffic congestion.

The 21-year-old woman who was allegedly abducted by three unknown men from her rented house at Agrahara Dasarahalli in Bengaluru alleged that one of the abductors instructed the car driver ‘not to stop even if anyone came in their way and to run over them’.
The alleged incident took place in the evening on September 16.
The woman, in her complaint, alleged that one of the accused sitting beside her in the rear seat gave the instructions. The driver followed the instruction, driving at high speed, and hitting vehicles and people who came in their path.
She also alleged that she was sexually harassed by one of the accused.
The woman has alleged that her mother-in-law, identified as Paanidevi, is behind the abduction bid. She claimed that she married Om Prakash, her husband, against the will of their families.
The couple, originally from Rajasthan, had been living at a relative’s place in Jinke Park. About 10 days ago, they had moved to a rented place in Agrahara Dasarahalli.
On September 16, the woman told the police that she was alone at home when, around 7 p.m. three unidentified men allegedly entered the house, which is on the second floor. They allegedly dragged her out of the house, and forced her into a car. The driver then allegedly sped away.
While in the car, one of the accused allegedly made a video call to the victim’s mother-in-law and told her to speak to the woman. Paanidevi allegedly told the woman to return home, and threatened that her husband would be killed if she did not.
According to the FIR, those hit by the car, along with other passers-by, pursued the vehicle. When the vehicle slowed down due to traffic congestion, the pursuers caught up with the abductors. Later, police reached the spot, and took the accused and the woman to the police station.
The woman told the police that she and Om Prakash had known each other since their school days. They had been in a relationship for around four years. Their families had opposed their relationship and the marriage. As a result, the couple married before a judge in a court in Pali district of Rajasthan on February 13, 2026. After marriage, they shifted to Bengaluru.
The Magadi Road police have filed an FIR against the three arrested accused under various sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, including provisions relating to abduction, assault, criminal intimidation, and offences against a woman.
