CCB arrests absconding rowdy-sheeter Divakar Raj Urs, wanted for attempted murder and multiple serious criminal cases, after six years.

The Central Crime Branch (CCB) sleuths have arrested a 33-year-old rowdy-sheeter who had been absconding for six years in connection with an attempted murder case and had a non-bailable warrant pending against him.
The accused, identified as Divakar Raj Urs, a rowdy-sheeter in the Girinagar area, was arrested near the Raghavendra Swamy Temple in Papareddypalya near Annapoorneshwari Nagar. The accused had been evading court proceedings in the attempt to murder case registered at the Magadi Road Police Station for the past six years.
The police said 12 serious criminal cases have been registered against him across various police stations. These include cases related to robbery, conspiracy to commit robbery, attempt to murder, kidnapping, wrongful confinement, criminal intimidation, obstructing a government servant, offences under the Arms Act, extortion, and the Karnataka Control of Organised Crime Act (KCOCA), 2000.
Of the 12 cases, three were registered at the Girinagar Police Station, two at V.V. Puram, and one each at R.R. Nagar, Hanumanthanagar, Magadi Road, Sanjaynagar, Jalahalli, Yeshwantpur, and Thalaghattapura Police Stations.
The CCB personnel had been monitoring rowdy-sheeters and accused against whom warrants were pending in the South Division. Acting on information, a team traced and arrested Urs.
