A 22-year-old hotel worker died after getting trapped in a goods lift at Jayanagar in Bengaluru on July 16.

The deceased has been identified as Rajesh (22), a native of Dharwad, who was working at Dakshina Upahar Hotel, under Jayanagar police station limits.

According to preliminary findings, the incident occurred around 9 a.m. while Rajesh was using a goods lift to transport grocery supplies. When the lift moved, his head and neck were allegedly protruding outside the lift. They hit the super-structure, leading to injuries, which led to his death.

Jayanagar police visited the spot and have begun an investigation. Officers are examining CCTV camera footage from the premises to ascertain the exact sequence of events, and determine whether any negligence was involved.
