Plans to deploy automated stackers, integrated cleaner-cum-bagging machinery at Telangana’s Paddy Procurement Centres

Telangana Civil Supplies department plans to deploy automated stackers and integrated cleaner-cum-bagging machinery at high-volume Paddy Procurement Centres (PPCs) to reduce dependency on manual labour, accelerate transport turnaround and minimize delays in procurement. Shortage of hamalis was one of the issues in delayed procurement of food grains in the previous procurement cycle.

Plans for mechanization of PPCs to address issues with manual labour and expedite the procurement process, prices of essential commodities were discussed at a high-level meeting chaired by Commissioner of Civil Supplies M. Stephen Raveendra and attended by K. Surendra Mohan, Secretary, Agriculture, and Rahul Raj, Managing Director, TG MARKFED, in Hyderabad on Wednesday (July 29).

To augment logistical infrastructure for Custom Milled Rice (CMR), Agricultural Market Committees (AMCs) were directed to prioritize and clear dedicated godown space.

There are no alarming signs across 11 Price Monitoring Centres in the State, as per authorities who monitored the prices.
