A 20-year-old street vendor was found murdered inside a park in Kumaraswamy Layout Police Station limits on Sunday (July 12, 2026) morning.

The deceased has been identified as Rakesh alias Rocky (20), son of late Kumar and a resident of Rajyotsava Nagar in Kumaraswamy Layout. He worked as an egg rice vendor, operating a pushcart.

According to preliminary information shared by the police, Rakesh is suspected to have been murdered between midnight and 1 a.m. Investigators believe he had consumed alcohol and was involved in a quarrel inside the park before he was killed.

The incident came to light on Sunday (July 12, 2026) morning, following which the police visited the spot and launched an investigation. Police are probing the circumstances leading to the murder and are working to identify those involved. Further investigation is underway.
