Bethesda Game Studios has released a new teaser for The Elder Scrolls VI, marking the first fresh promotional footage for the highly anticipated game since its announcement at E3 2018. Unveiled on November 3 as part of the studio’s 40th anniversary celebrations, the brief teaser confirms the game’s official title as The Elder Scrolls VI: Sentinel.

The reveal was introduced by Bethesda director Todd Howard, who acknowledged the long-running questions surrounding the sequel before describing the anniversary as the right moment to announce its name. The teaser then shows a scroll emerging from beneath desert sands, with the title Sentinel appearing at the end.

The name has fuelled speculation about the game’s setting. Sentinel is a prominent city in the province of Hammerfell in the Elder Scrolls universe, and previous reports have suggested that the upcoming game will take players to the region. However, Bethesda has not officially confirmed its setting in the new reveal.

Despite the title announcement, the teaser offers no gameplay footage or substantial details about the story. Bethesda has also yet to announce a release date, launch window or confirmed platforms for the game.

The Elder Scrolls VI was first announced in June 2018, with a short teaser showing a mountainous landscape before revealing the game’s logo. The project has remained largely under wraps since then, with Howard and the studio offering only occasional updates on its development.

The upcoming title will follow The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, which launched in 2011 and remains one of Bethesda’s most successful games. The franchise is now entering a new chapter, although fans will have to wait longer for a proper look at the sequel in action.
