A.P. Minister thanks Union Railways Minister for approving new train service between Machilipatnam and Kurnool City
Andhra Pradesh's Industries Minister thanks the Union Railway Minister for approving a new Machilipatnam–Kurnool City train via Vijayawada, boosting regional connectivity.

Minister of Industries and Commerce of Andhra Pradesh T.G. Bharath Gupta on Tuesday (September 29, 2026) thanked Union Minister of Railways Ashwini Vaishnaw for responding to his request and sanctioning new train service between Machilipatnam and Kurnool City via Vijayawada.
Mr. Bharath said that this train service would not only improve transportation facilities for the people of Kurnool but also provide direct rail connectivity to Vijayawada and Machilipatnam. He expressed his gratitude for the continuous support extended to the State of Andhra Pradesh and for the positive consideration of his request.
The Railway Ministry on Monday (September 28) announced a new train service between Kurnool City and Vijayawada. The news was conveyed to Mr. Bharath by the Union Railway Minister through a letter stating that approval has been granted for a new train between Machilipatnam and Kurnool City via Vijayawada.
Mr. Bharath had written to the Union Railway Minister on April 2, 2025, and July 16, 2026, seeking train services for better rail connectivity for the people of Kurnool.
