Jharkhand BJP unanimously passes political resolution at State Executive Committee meeting

In the political resolution, Babulal Marandi criticised the Hemant Soren-led government, addressing issues ranging from tribal identity to corruption and poor governance

On the final day of the Jharkhand Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) State Executive Committee meeting in Ranchi on Sunday (October 25, 2026), the committee passed a resolution calling the Hemant Soren-led government anti-people.

The Leader of the Opposition, Babulal Marandi, tabled the resolution, and former Chief Ministers Champai Soren and Madhu Koda seconded it. The resolution focused on the alleged administration’s failures across all fronts.

In the resolution, BJP said that Mr. Soren’s government failed to fulfil election promises, law and order is deteriorating, failed to ensure women’s safety, mineral resources are being looted, youth and students have been betrayed, and the tribal communities are being oppressed.

By questioning the State government’s policies and style of functioning, the resolution pledged to intensify the struggle against alleged corruption and unemployment following the guidance from National President Nitin Nabin who also attended the meeting on October 24, 2026.

Mr. Marandi alleged that the Congress and the Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) have looted tribal land in Jharkhand. Mr. Marandi accused Hemant Soren of being responsible for the land dispossession of the tribal population, urging party workers to take action; he called for a strong and vigorous protest against this.

Expressing concern over the alleged demographic shift, he pointed out that while the JMM and Congress view this issue merely through the lens of a ‘vote bank’ for the BJP, the changing demographics of the state are a matter of serious concern.

He also mentioned that, under the guise of a ‘tribal rally,’ efforts were made to involve the Christian community. He expressed concern over the alleged decline in the tribal population and the rising proportion of the Muslim population, warning that if this trend continues, the situation could mirror that of Bangladesh.

Former Chief Minister Champai Soren, speaking in support of the political resolution, said that in the Santhal Pargana region, more than 30,000 hectares of land belonging to tribal communities have been allegedly captured by infiltrators.

In the resolution, the party launched a sharp attack on the JMM-Congress-RJD coalition government, stating that since coming to power in Jharkhand in 2019, the administration has offered the public mere dreams of development, while the reality on the ground is defined by disappointment, unemployment, and corruption.

In the presence of State BJP President Aditya Sahu, the BJP demanded the immediate completion of the ‘triple test’ process—a prerequisite for reservation for the backward classes—and insisted that the three-tier Panchayat elections be held on schedule.

The Committee asserted that the BJP will not remain silent on matters concerning the rights of the people of Jharkhand, the future of its youth, and the state’s development.

The Committee resolution alleges that a growing sense of insecurity prevails among the public due to incidents of crime, shootings, robberies, and other criminal activities. The BJP asserted that the primary duty of any government is to ensure the safety of its citizens’ lives and property.

The Committee resolved that the BJP will intensify a State-wide public awareness campaign and democratic struggle against the Hemant Soren government—citing its failure to keep promises, rampant corruption, unemployment, a deteriorating law-and-order situation, and other issues affecting the public interest.

The State BJP decided that party workers will reach out to every village and household to inform the public about the government’s performance, while raising a strong voice for the rights of the youth, students, farmers, women, tribal communities, and marginalised sections of society.
