‘NP 51’: Nivin Pauly’s next announced; Rukmini Vasanth to make Malayalam debut

Rukmini Vasanth and Nivin Pauly will star in a Malayalam movie to be directed by debutant Nashid Famy

Actor Rukmini Vasanth, who broke through with her memorable performance in the Sapta Saagaradaache Ello movies, is set for her debut in the Malayalam industry. The Bengaluru-based actor will star opposite Nivin Pauly in a film to be directed by debutant Nashid Famy.

The project marks the 51st film of Nivin. The makers announced the project with a pooja ceremony on August 09, 2026 (Saturday). The movie is jointly produced by Martin Prakatt Films and Nivin’s banner, Pauly Jr Pictures.

Nivin’s long-time collaborator, actor Aju Varghese, is set to play an important character in the movie. “Happy to team up with Martin Prakkat for my next, helmed by Nashid Famy,” Nivin wrote on social media. Nashid had written the blockbuster Jaya Jaya Jaya Jaya Hey, starring Darshana Rajendran and Basil Joseph.

The makers are expected to announce the cast and crew soon. Nivin is awaiting the release of Bethlehem Kudumba Unit, directed by Girish AD. The Onam release (August 21) also stars Mamitha Baiju. Nivin’s 50th project reunites the actor with Premam director Alphonse Puthren.

Meanwhile, Rukmini is awaiting the release of Toxic: A Fairy Tale for Grown-Ups.Starring Yash in the lead, the Kannada gangster drama is directed by Geetu Mohandas. The movie also has Tara Sutaria, Kiara Advani, Huma Qureshi and Nayanthara in prominent roles.
